The Weekly Musing #7

This week, let’s continue with the topic of summer.

  • During the summertime when the weather is not-so-nice (i.e. constant RAIN… ugh) and everyone is stuck indoors, what kind of indoor activities keep you occupied?
  • Describe the best (or worst) summer job you have held.
  • Do you prefer to take day trips or long vacations? Why?
  • Have you ever taken an impromptu road trip? If so, describe your experience. If not, describe your ideal trip.

Thanks in advance for participating! Feel free to comment with your responses and/or repost the Musing on your own page. I look forward to reading what you have to say!

The Weekly Musing #6

Ahh, summer… This week, let’s talk about your favourite summertime foods.

  • Name one food that comes to mind as the “ultimate” summer food. (This could be a food that you eat to mark the beginning of summer, a food that you eat frequently during the summer months, and/or a food that simply represents summer.)
  • I’m torn between corn and watermelon. Both foods just scream “summer” to me.

  • BBQs and cookouts: How many (approximate) do you have during the summer? Do you invite a lot of people to attend?
  • My cousin always has a few during the summer and invites a group of people to come. At our house, my parents and I grill outside a lot, but the cookouts are generally limited to just us and maybe a friend of mine.

  • When it is hot out, what is your favourite food or drink to “cool off” with?
  • Iced coffee.

  • Do you like eating outside during the summer? Why or why not?
  • It’s nice to eat outside if you are on a screened porch where the bugs can’t get to you. Otherwise, it can be a hassle to deal with the bugs and natural elements – like unexpected rain and gusts of wind.

  • The weather can make some people’s appetites change. For example, some people find themselves eating lighters meals and more salads during the spring and summer months than they do during the fall and winter months. Do you find that happens to you?
  • Yes- I find that I eat more salads and lighter meals during the summer, not only because it’s unappealing to eat a very heavy meal when it’s warm and muggy out, but also because there are nicer-looking vegetables and fruits to be found during this time of the year.

  • Share a recipe for a dish you enjoy making and eating during the summer.
  • Salads of any kind. I’ll often add sliced fresh peaches, strawberries, or some blueberries for a different taste in a simple green salad.

I’m not going to even bother posting for TWM #4 and #5 because they are really old questions at this point. TWM #4 related to the holidays, which have long since past, and TWM #5 related to the Superbowl, which I don’t have a hell of a lot to say about in the first place. Thank you to Lindsay (and whoever else, if anyone) for responding to those few, and onward with the next edition of The Weekly Musing. Feel free to comment if you do post any TWM questions on your blog; I want to know if anyone actually does them!!

Before the Super Bowl kicks-off this evening (haha, pun fully intended on that one), take a minute to ponder these football-related questions. I’m not much of a football enthusiast, so I am going to try my best on this one… lol.

  • First of all, do you even plan on watching the Super Bowl?
  • What are some of your favourite foods to eat during football games?
  • If you could pick the musical act for the half-time show, who would you pick and why?
  • If you won tickets to the Super Bowl, would you go to the event or sell the tickets for a ridiculous amount of money?
  • Name your favourite football movie, or your favourite football-related moment from any movie.

The Weekly Musing #4

It’s been a while since I’ve posted one of these. Probably because nobody was doing them, and I was extremely busy over the fall months.

Since I have been doing these daily memes, I have come up with some pretty good questions of my own and I decided, Why not start my own meme?

As the name implies, The Weekly Musing will be a (hopefully) weekly meme about pretty much anything that has come to my mind recently (observations, thoughts, ideas, etc.) and will include some corresponding questions. Topics might include a TV show I have been watching, a new album I listened to, a dream I had, a movie I saw… anything goes.

I am going to aim to post The Weekly Musing on Sundays and any questions will be answered on Saturdays. Feel free to answer The Weekly Musing at any point during the week. Next Saturday I will answer the questions that I posted below (as well as any others that were asked) for this week’s Musing, and next Sunday there will be a completely new musing.

The Weekly Musing will be apart of Fuchsia Revolver and a seperate category will be created for the entries. If you want to link to The Weekly Musing or mention it to everyone you know that blogs, please do…

Admittedly, I am partial to specific genres of movies and music, television shows, baseball (as opposed to any other kind of sport)… but that doesn’t mean that you have to be. If you want to share something that you have been musing over, or have some great questions and ideas you want to share, don’t hesitate to email me and I will gladly feature your musings at some point in the future. If nothing else… it is a plug for you and your site!!! Yay promotion!!! Who doesn’t like promotion?? Having said that, if you have something to say and want to have your site promoted, my email address is systematicdecline[@]gmail[.]com. I want my inbox filled with messages by noon tomorrow. Seriously, damn it.

Let’s get things started

The Weekly Musing #4

Considering the holidays that have just passed by and the ones that are to come, this Musing is all about the holiday season. I’ll try to make the questions relatively generic, so answer them based on whatever holiday you celebrate.

  • What were your wishes for the holiday season, material (presents – who doesn’t love them?) and non-material? Did you get everything you wished for?
  • Name the funniest present (i.e. a gag or joke gift) you gave to someone or someone gave to you. It can be something from this year or from years past.
  • What are some of your favourite foods to eat around the holidays?
  • How are you going to spend your New Years Eve? What are your hopes and wishes for the new year to come?

Thanks in advance for participating! Feel free to comment with your responses and/or repost the Musing on your own page. I look forward to reading what you have to say!
