Four Foods On Friday #77

#1. Anele’s question. Do you have a natural ability to cook or do you feel you just “get by?”
Cooking is something I feel very passionate about. I constantly want to improve my skills, try new foods, and generally learn as much as I can about anything food-related. Also, there are a few kick-ass cooks in my family, so I think there is a little bit of genetically inherited skill…

#2. Why do you buy the size eggs that you buy?
We generally try to buy the carton of 18, simply because I tend to bake a lot and my dad eats eggs for breakfast almost every morning.

#3. Do you have any cooking “rules”?
I need to have decent kitchen towels around or somewhere on me at all times. I generally stuff one into my back pocket or throw one over my shoulder, and then there are also some draped over the handle on the stove or thrown on the counter. By decent towels, I mean towels that actually absorb. My aunt recently got me these pretty patriotic-themed kitchen towels, but they are so thin and useless when it comes to cleaning anything up; one small spill, and that’s it- they are saturated. Much to my chagrin, I purchased the Bobby Flay barmop kitchen towels at Kohls not too long ago. They have pretty good absorbency and rich, festive colours- love ‘em.

#4. Fresh corn. Yellow, white or bicolored?
Doesn’t matter to me as long as it tastes wonderful; sometimes you pick up corn that is tasteless, which can be horribly dissapointing… :frown:
