Four Foods On Friday #40
#1. Candy. Do you prefer sweet or sour candy?
It depends on my mood – whether I am feeling sweet or sour on any particular day.
#2. Gum. Love it? Hate it? What kind is your favorite?
I like chewing gum on occasion, but sometimes my jaw starts to hurt if I chew it too much. Generally, I go for fruity-tasting gum, and I really like those Ice Breakers “Ice Cubes.” They look like little ice cubes (haha, who would have guessed it…
) and have ice “crystals” of flavor in them. Yummy.
#3. What is your favorite candy?
I don’t think I have met a candy that I don’t like. I have an enormous sweet-tooth for desserts, so candy is kind-of like the significant other to desserts. I love buttery tasting caramels and toffee, rich organic dark chocolate, salt water taffy from the seashore, and gummy candies in particular.
#4. Share a recipe for anything that you can include a piece of candy in.
I have always wanted to try recipes made with Andes candy. I picked up a card that had a recipe for a chocolate mint cheesecake and chocolate mint brownies; both look sooooo good. This search came up with a page full of recipes using Andes candy. The only recipe on that page that doesn’t sound good to me is the “ANDES MINT OATMEAL COOKIES” recipe. Somehow, I can’t imagine Andes mints and oatmeal cookies tasting good together.

Definitely agree with you on the gum part… it makes my jaw hurt too.

Oh, I have to say that oatmeal and mint does not sound like a good combination.
