Four Foods on Friday #49

#1. Turnips. Love em or leave em?
They are can be a bitch to peel, cook, and mash, but they are yummy at Thanksgiving.

#2. What’s your favorite roasted dish?
Roasted vegetables are tasty as hell, incredibly simple to make, and good with just about anything. In my case, I generally eat them with pasta or with a “faux” meat – a.k.a. something made out of soy that is supposed to be used as a veggie substitute for meat.

#3. Salsa. What kind do you like?
Mangooooo. Yum, yum, yum…

#4. Share directions on how to make your favorite quick meal, meaning start to finish in about 30 minutes or less.
Birds Eye sugar snap stir-fry sauteed with a “faux” meat, like Morningstar “chicken” or “beef” strips, a little bit of oil, and a sauce of some kind – preferably thai chili-garlic or peanut. Serve with rice or Asian noodles, or linguine if you don’t have Asian noodles (an excellent substitute.) Quick and very tasty.

I like to roast veggies with a mixture of Lipton Herb and Garlic Soup mix and olive oil. It’s about the only way I can eat asparagus!
