BTT: Unread and TBR

“So here today I present to you an Unread Books Challenge. Give me the list or take a picture of all the books you have stacked on your bedside table, hidden under the bed or standing in your shelf – the books you have not read, but keep meaning to. The books that begin to weigh on your mind. The books that make you cover your ears in conversation and say, ‘No! Don’t give me another book to read! I can’t finish the ones I have!’”

  • Meyer, Stephenie – Twilight Read, need to give it back to my friend
  • Max, B. Delores – Dumped Still haven’t read
  • Buford, Bill – Heat Reading, still haven’t finished
  • Palahniuk, Chuck – Invisible Monsters Reading for the 5th time
  • Ellis, Robert – City of Fire Still haven’t read
  • Kamp, David – The United States of Arugula Read a few pages, then stopped
  • Ehrenreich, Barbara – Nickel and Dimed Read a chapter, then stopped
  • Mastrosimone, William – Extremities Read a few times
  • Ibsen, Henrik – A Doll’s House Read a few times
  • Suduko and word search books from the dollar store lol!

Do you keep all your unread books together, like books in a waiting room? Or are they scattered throughout your shelves, mingling like party-goers waiting for the host to come along?

I have books on a bookshelf in my computer room, several boxes of books hidden away in the garage or basement, and bags of paperbacks that my aunt gave me stashed in my room. I’ll go through them every now and again to select books that I want to read or re-read, and I’ll add them to the stack of books in my nightstand.

BTT: Celebrities

Do you read celebrity memoirs?
If they are interesting enough, I will read them.

Which ones have you read or do you want to read?
Giggle if you must, but a few years ago I read Marylin Manson’s autobiography, The Long Hard Road Out Of Hell, and it was pretty entertaining. I also read Pamela Anderson’s “Star” novels that are loosely based off of her life, and they were also entertaining.

I would like to read Anthony Kiedis’ memoir, Scar Tissue, and I’m also curious to read Jenna Jameson’s memoir, How to Make Love Like a Porn Star: A Cautionary Tale. I have watched the E! true life story episode about Jenna Jameson several times and think it’s something how she went from being just another stripper to the “queen” of porn. Say what you want about pornography, but look at the empire she has built in the industry (several books, DVDs, and websites; a product line; partnerships with other models and companies…) and then try to tell me that she isn’t one hell of a businesswoman…

Which nonexistent celebrity memoirs would you like to see?
Maynard James Keenan. I would be curious to read what he has to say.
