Norway is calling me alright…

Ah, and now I find out that there is another festival on 5 April, during my spring break, that Zyklon are going to play at.

And where is that festival??

Oslo, of course.

And where are NIN playing, as mentioned, on 7 April?

Oslo, of course.

In conclusion, that is the place I need to be for spring break and in order to do that, I need to get money, and quick. Give me some ideas, short of selling my soul for pennies on the dollar.

The show was fucking fantastic. 11th row, section 104 for $25 a ticket was like a dream. Except for the occasional heads in the way, it was a damn good place to be seated. It was the first time I actually walked out of a show and did not ache all over from being kicked around in the pit. I had that experience when I was in shock and awe last year when I saw them, so this time wanted to have a seat, chill out in the crowd, and get awesome pictures. And I did. I got at least 50 pictures, if not more, including some awesome pictures of Trent behind those “jail bars”/light strings, and a video… and nobody cared enough to stop me, especially when you consider that everyone else had camera phones and cameras, too.

The set list was ideal; a perfect mix of songs from every album, and then some. I was surprised to hear so many songs from “The Fragile” (especially “Into the Void” and “Somewhat Damaged”) as well as other songs like “Dead Souls” and “Non Entity” (I thought I was going to die when they started to play that); however, I was a little dissapointed that they did not play “Eraser”, “Home”, or “The Line Begins to Blur” in place of “Get Down, Make Love” or “Down In It” (my least favourite NIN song, which I actually managed to get into for a change, it sounded so good…) At the same time, I had seen them back in Spring 2005 after “With Teeth” came out, so I got to see them perform nearly every song from thta album, anyway, and was happy to hear some of the older songs and songs they had not played then.

I bought a shirt and a regular poster because I did not see the lithograph (like the one I got at Hammerstein last year, and each one is unique for each show) until after I bought those two things. Guess I will have to wait and see if any extras appear on nin.com or eBay.

Oh, and I met and exchanged numbers with a cute girl that I had been wanting to meet for a whilleee… so that completed the night. Hehe. ;)

46 pictures from the show were posted in my gallery under “Events”. Go take a look and tell me what you think of them. Quite a few of them came out REALLY good…

MSI show

Well MSI last night was a lot of fucking fun. Like… a lot… of fun. We got there really early and were waiting in line for an hour and a half, because we had nothing better to be doing. I met up with a girl I knew from Myspace, and she was cool – we all hung out together, and it was awesome.

Kenny Muhammad was awesome with his beat-boxing ability. Very entertaining, but I have to wonder how one’s throat does not get completely raw and fucked from doing that so much. I suppose it is just like gutteral screaming?? Hm… Nonetheless, it reminded me of the one part in our band show this year; the part where the cutie saxophonist representing the t-sax section – my homies and my section this year – gets up there and does his beat-box thing.

The AKA’s were alright. Their keyboardist was a cool chick, and I liked the anti-Bush song they played; but I got tired of them after a mere few songs.

Suicide City were pretty cool. The whole band was hot, and I would have made-out with every one of them – especially the lead singer, and the bassist…

Then MSI… I would have enjoyed them more if a few things would have occurred:

1. If I was wearing different pants. The ones I was wearing were really baggy, covered my feet… and made it impossible for me to walk without stepping on or tripping over. They also had the tendency to fall down, as I experienced when I went crowdsurfing. Bad idea, but hey – I tried it, and now I know. No sooner was I picked up by the guy at the gate by the stage and set down, they fell down off my ass. Fun.

2. If I was not slammed into the wooden bar every time the crowd shifted back, because nobody was pushing back the other way. I woke up this morning and I was expecting my back to be black and blue all over… alas, it was not, but it hurts like a motherfucker.

3. If they FUCKING PLAYED “SEVEN ELEVEN.”

Otherwise… yeah, awesome show. I had a lot of fun. My friend got his ticket signed by Jimmy, and my other friend got a kiss from the bassist in one of the other bands.

Next up is NINE INCH motherfuckin’ NAILS on 6 November; Dropkick Murphys on 10 November; and Bad Religion with Anti Flag on 19 November… and Ministry sometime in June 2006. Heh…
