A new look

This is going to be the new layout style. Admittedly, I’m lazy. I did not code this myself – it’s a WordPress theme that I downloaded, once again, from the a WP theme directory. As usual, I’m not sticking with the original look; I always end up changing something on layouts I download and use, while giving credit for the original creator (see the bottom of the layout for links.)

As you can see, I’m in the process of changing the colour theme to one I’ve put together…

…And I’m also going to make a new header to match, once I figure out what I want to put there. In the mean time, it might end up being something simple, like geometric shapes- we’ll see.

Upgraded to WP 2.7

I’m diggin’ the new WP; love the dashboard and the rest of the interface.

Speaking of “new”, I just had some ideas rolling around in my head for a much-needed new layout. I might end up using a temporary, pre-made WP theme until I get around to working on one of my own, or I might end up modifying the one I have now. I really like the this setup, but it could use some more tweaking. Update: Temporary WP theme put up, as you can see. Still needs to be modified.

Sickness, concerts, and web-stuff

I went to the doctor today. I have had a stuffy nose, swollen glands and a cough for the past few days. My head was so congested a few days ago, it felt as if there was a brick in my head instead of a brain. Luckily, I am feeling a bit better today than I was feeling yesterday; but I got some medication from the doctor, anyway, and a note to excuse (hopefully) today’s absence and tomorrow’s as well. I am supposed to go away for the weekend, but I don’t know. It depends on how I feel… =(

Every time I go to the doctor, he always mentions how much weight I lost. For those who may not know, from 5th grade to the 9th grade, I was very heavy. I was always a chunky kid – and still am, really – but my heaviest was around 230lbs in 6th/7th grade. I remember how ecstatic I was when I went to Old Navy for the first time. I bought two size 20 pairs of jeans – the first two pairs of jeans that I owned because before then, I always wore stretch or sweat pants (with the elastic on the bottom of the leg to go under the foot, hah!! I hated those when I was a kid!!!) – and they were tight as hell, but I vowed that I would eventually fit into the damn things. Well, I am anywhere from a size 8 to 12 now, depending on the jeans of course, but on average I take a size 10. Pretty amazing? What is even more amazing is that I have no idea how I lost all of the weight. I think at some point in time I probably had an eating disorder; but I cannot say that for a fact, because I don’t know. It could have been one that I never noticed, something really subtle like an heating habit or ritual.

Anyway.

There are quite a few good shows coming up at Starland in October…

5 October » Cannibal Corpse (most-likely going)

11/13 October » Street Dogs (would like to go)

18 October » HIM and Bleeding Through (would like to go)

20 October » Bad Religion (would really like to go)

27 October » Misfits (would like to go)

31 October » Type o Negative (definitely going)

Now if I only had the money… hah! I had to almost max-out my credit card in order to keep my phone turned on a a few weeks ago and my paychecks have not been too great. I have another job offer at a bakery about 10min away from my house that I might take, if this thing with my cousin falls through; but that job will only pay $8 an hour compared to the promised $8.50 to $9 an hour if I work with my cousin.

I have to finish remodeling my collective one of these days as well as Burned-Bridges. It needs a massive face-lift and it sucks that I am paying for it every year, but the hits keep going down and I am becoming less and less interested myself. I have a voucher for a free hosting account that I need to use sometime before October. All I need is a domain name to register it with… anyone have any ideas what I could use it for??

Update: I did some housekeeping with the pages and the look of the layout, made it a little cleaner and updated some of the info on the pages.
