No pictures today because I was out most of the day yesterday.
Breakfast: Black currant black tea with Equal sweetener and yogurt
Lunch: One slice of veggie meatloaf, one scoop of mashed potatoes, and a big salad
I went out to eat for dinner to an Italian place last night. I can’t tell you how much I really wanted to get the penne vodka, baked ziti, or eggplant rollatini, but I went with shrimp scampi over linguini; a lighter option when compared to heavy cream sauces and heavy baked pasta, cheese, and sauce goodness. I also had a salad with dressing on the side, two slices of bread, and an iced tea with Splenda sweetener. Normally, I would have ate more than two slices of bread and more of the pasta, but I ended up leaving most of the bread and pasta behind. After dinner, I did have one cocktail – a glass of white sangria wine with a splash of peach schnapps, topped with club soda and two strawberries – but I stopped at one and intentionally added the club soda to make it more like a spritzer.
While on the subject of beverages, I should mention that aside from the cocktail yesterday :vodka:, I have not had any other alcohol since Musikfest ended this past Sunday and I also cut back considerably on caffeine. I haven’t had any soda since last week, diet or otherwise, and I have been trying to alternate between coffee and tea for breakfast during the morning rather than automatically drinking coffee. The other day at the store, I bought some more tea; one was a caffeine free raspberry peach herbal tea and one was a Tazo tea sampler pack that had a mix of caffeinated and non-caffeinated, so I will be sure to let everyone know how I liked them.
I didn’t exercise yesterday, but I went shopping in three fairly large stores and made it a point to walk around more. I also have been parking further away from the front entrance of stores, an easy way to sneak more walking into my day when shopping and running errands. So far, I put in 4 miles total distance and 84 minutes total time for this week. Not bad for only three days so far this week and only counting the time and miles put in on the treadmill, not walking done during the day at other places.
With those changes, I already lost 5lbs so far this week. I know that is bad to weigh-in daily, but I have done so for this past week and saw a steady decrease, most of it due to a decrease in bloating and – sorry, for sounding gross… – waste and water weight being expelled. I can already feel a change in the way some of my shorts and shirts are fitting, and hopefully at this rate I will be into my fall jeans in no time.
To round out the week, I have set a goal to put in another 3 miles, split between today and Sunday, to bring my weekly total to 7 miles on the treadmill. Tomorrow, I might end up taking another break since I am going to the beach and I will do a lot of walking there; specifically, a lot of walking on the sand, which is a great workout compared to walking on a flat or slightly inclined surface.
