Friday Five: 5/27/11

Via Friday Five

I know it’s not Friday, but I couldn’t pass up these questions, considering how much I love to cook.

What is your favorite condiment?
Probably BBQ sauce.

What is your favorite spice?
That’s a hard question, but I guess I’m a big fan of Cumin. I use it in a lot of dishes.

What is your favorite cooking oil? (Canola oil, sesame oil, butter, etc)
Depends on what I am making. I often reach for olive oil for most cooking.

What is your favorite starchy food? (Bread, rice, potatoes, noodles, etc)
Can’t beat a good, crusty loaf of freshly baked, hot bread. I love the rosemary and sea salt loaf at Wegmans. Mmmm…

What is your favorite flavor for candy?
It depends on the candy. For hard candies, like Jolly Ranchers, I prefer cherry. Overall, I like candies with chocolate and caramel.

  1. Hooray! A new post, and it’s a Friday Five! Would you believe that I’ve been doing those since I started blogging back in 2002? Crazy. Then again, I’ve been known to skip huge chunks of time or do several in one post, so I think doing it within the week is perfectly acceptable. :)

    1. Me too! I remember doing these years ago. I believe it switched hands quite a few times; it was stopped, then re-started by someone, then stopped, then re-started by someone else… Overall, I love memes like these. Some call them useless space fillers, or tools for lazy/busy bloggers (guilty as charged), but I think they’re perfectly acceptable conversation/blog post starters when there is not much to talk about (or maybe too much to talk about that is hard to quickly summarize.)

      1. Memes are a great way to add some regular variety to blogging. (I know, oxymoron, but still.) Besides, when else am I going to have a nice neat segue into telling people how much I enjoy ketchup mixed with barbecue sauce?
