Holiday season mass chaos and confusion starts… NOW!

DAMN. I was meaning to update more in November than I actually did. Looking at that little calendar that I put over on the left sidebar might have been a bad choice; it’s depressing to look at it and not see the dates highlighted in green clickable links. Meh…

So, Thanksgiving was last week. How was yours? I had the pleasure of having a 5 day weekend that I am still trying to recover from. I started with taking off on Wednesday, driving to Virginia and spending two days there to visit Steve’s family. We had a nice Thanksgiving celebration, complete with the family’s annual Turkey Day tradition of playing Goldeneye on Nintendo 64 after dinner, and left the area on Friday to head up to Baltimore to spend the weekend. It was good, we saw one of my friends who moved to the area quite a few years ago and did a lot of walking around – about 8 miles, and much to my dismay I didn’t lose an ounce of weight, even though I didn’t really stuff myself for Thanksgiving or anything, so you can imagine how pissed I was (hell, I still am.)

The good news is tomorrow is Thursday, which means that the weekend is almost here and it is also payday! Who doesn’t love payday? Really. It is the best. Even though my student loans kick in soon and I set up quite a few bills to debit in the next few days. *heavy sigh* Such is life…

Pretty soon, it will be Christmas, but I am still trying to get over the fact that Thanksgiving was last week and tomorrow is December 1st already. That means Steve will be finishing his first semester back to school; I’ll have another 4-5 day weekend for the Christmas holiday followed by a 3 day weekend for New Years Eve/Day; my 23rd birthday on a Friday this year in the first week of January; and the trade show that we go to every year is at the end of January for 5-7 days in Chicago (sort-of a vacation, but not really since I’ll be working for part of it.)

Wow. Before all that can happen, though, there’s a shit ton of things going on at work, as far as meetings are concerned and a few appointments that I have outside of work. Totaled up, I will be surprised if anything gets done in December – while at the same time I know that I have about a dozen tasks due for work by the end of the month. Fun times!
