Eats for Game Day (or Commercial Watching… Your Choice)

Today is the big game and, unlike basically all of my fellow Americans, I am admittedly not a huge American football fan. I'll watch it if it is on the TV and I am out at a bar or if someone else wants to watch it, but I don't have a favorite team and I don't get mad about who wins or loses. As a marketer and foodie, though, I am sure you could have guessed that I love the eating, partying, and commerical-watching aspects of game day. In the kitchen is where one might find me on any Superbowl ... Continue Reading

WordPress’ Jetpack Plugin and Other Tweaks

In continuing to tweak the modified 2014 layout that I posted earlier last week, I disabled a number of legacy plugins and replaced most of them with the streamlined Jetpack plugin by WordPress. Those with blogs hosted on WordPress.com should already be familiar with the Jetpack features, but those with self-hosted instances of WordPress, like me, can get the same features now, too! Pantry Raid: Mushroom Barley Soup

I am kicking off my list of 2015 foodie resolutions right with one of the pantry raid recipes that I promised. Foodie Resolutions for 2015

I came across an article on MSN Food & Drink that outlines new things that foodies should try to do in the new year. There are a whopping 51 things listed and, as it turns out, I have already accomplished a lot of them! Go me! There is always room to do better, though, so here is what jumped out at me. The first thing on the list, clean-out and reorganize the fridge, seems like simple food safety and common sense to me. Nobody wants old food sitting around for eons, stinking up everything else. ... Pantry Raid: Tex-Mex Casserole

It was a snowy weekend here in the Northeast. Sounds of plows and shovels could be heard all night and afternoon on Saturday as the snow fell and our development crew worked to clear it out so we could all get out of our homes and on the roads today to go about the day. We are getting another snowfall now, and even more is on the way for later in the week. Me, I am not a cold weather-loving person. Looking at the snowfall is all well and good, but I prefer to stay inside and do that, if at all ... Continue Reading
