Homemade Irish Cream

I came across a recipe for Homemade Irish Cream that presented me with a perfect excuse to imbibe over the holiday weekend while simultaneously knocking off one of my my foodie resolutions while doing so. Pretty cool. ;) I guess Irish Cream is considered a cordial... or a liqueur. Serious Eats suggests that the terms are interchangeable, with cordial appearing more often on dessert-like products: liqueurs flavored with coffee, cream, chocolate, etc. I followed the recipe for the basic ingredients, ... Not much beats perfectly square gems of toffee, covered in chocolate and almonds, with a satisfying crunch and buttery flavor. Finally, though, I decided to make my own. An opportunity to save some money, versus continuing to buy itsy-bitsy containers, while also having something to look forward to making to supplement holiday cookies in about a month from now. As it turns out, making toffee is similar ... Continue Reading

Roasted Butternut Squash Soup Ingredients 1 medium butternut squash, sliced in half and seeds removed 1 medium sweet or Vidalia onion, diced 1 tablespoon honey (can be omitted, if you would prefer to cut back on sugar and calories or are vegan) 4 cups vegetable stock Fresh sage ...
