Introducing From Anna’s Kitchen

I'm excited to introduce my new project and blog: From Anna's Kitchen. Although marketing is my day job that pays the bills, food is my real passion. It's something I have dedicated much of my time writing about and doing for many years, with some of my first real experiences in the kitchen starting when I was just 5 years old when I would bake with my grandma when she would visit us from Florida. Creating From Anna's Kitchen is a natural evolution of where this blog, my personal blog ... Continue Reading

Foodie Reservations: The Final Verdict for 2015 and What’s Ahead for 2016

Happy New Year! Hopefully everyone had a safe and exciting night, and is now well on the way to recovering now that it is Sunday and almost back to the work week, sadly. :( Now is about that time when everyone is mulling over their goals for the year. As for me? I've already put a few requisite and cliché things on my list -- those are, lose weight and get back to the gym -- as well as some not-so-cliché things -- finish up my MBA (6 credits this Spring!), learn German and/or French (Duolingo ... Foodie Resolutions for 2015: Revisited

Now that the year is just about over (wow, isn't that hard to believe...), it seems like an appropriate time to revisit my foodie resolutions for 2015 list that I posted back in January to see how I did. I reviewed the list to weed out the things that I've already accomplished and the common sense items (e.g., clean out the fridge... doesn't seem like ... Continue Reading

Foodie Resolutions for 2015

I came across an article on MSN Food & Drink that outlines new things that foodies should try to do in the new year. There are a whopping 51 things listed and, as it turns out, I have already accomplished a lot of them! Go me! There is always room to do better, though, so here is what jumped out at me. The first thing on the list, clean-out and reorganize the fridge, seems like simple food safety and common sense to me. Nobody wants old food sitting around for eons, stinking up everything else. ... A trip to The Martha Stewart Show!

As previously mentioned, on the day that I was unable to go to the Rachael Ray Show because of inclimate weather, I received a notice that I was selected to go to a taping of The Martha Stewart Show. My mom and I were all set to go yesterday and had a hotel room booked just outside of the city that we arrived at late last evening. I got an email midday, saying that there were extra tickets to the show, so I called my cousin to let her know since she is such a big fan. She - of course - agreed ... Continue Reading
